Husk Gallery is delighted to present the third solo show with Belgian painter Nathalie Pirotte.

For a long time, the gaze of Nathalie Pirotte’s figures remained concealed in her body of work. Their faces were obscured or disrupted by paint, masking, and hybrid imagery. This recurring gesture shifted attention away from the face and towards the body as a site of identity, seduction, and painterly construction. By obscuring the faces of her figures, the artist invited the viewer to look differently: towards the body, towards posture, towards what unfolds beyond facial expression.
In Corpographies, that attention shifts to the hands. Hands remember, desire, protect, and tell stories. In powerful female figures and a series of small circular paintings, a silent language of gestures and touch unfolds. Hands become new carriers of identity and expression — gestures through which desire, intimacy, strength, and vulnerability are articulated, extending Nathalie Pirotte’s ongoing exploration of the body as painterly language.
