Husk Gallery is delighted to present the second solo show with Belgian artist Diego Herman in its gallery space.
Opening Sunday 15 March 2026 from 2 to 7 pm in the presence of the artist.
Born into a Mexican-Belgian family, painter Diego Herman (1994) explores the feeling of being 'between two worlds'. His solo exhibition 'Alone Together' addresses his key themes. He is fascinated by fencing and its role in shaping our perceptions. The show also reflects his new interest in plant and animal ecosystems, inspired by the Mexico City Botanical Garden and the zoos of Mexico City and Antwerp. Agaves, cacti, and animals appear as communities enclosed for various reasons. Here, Herman focuses on the viewer, evoking empathy.
The title 'Alone Together' captures the central paradox of the exhibition: separation and connection. His paintings raise the question of how boundaries create distance and whether connection is possible.
